Club Notes: Aoki and Shaq, Rose Rooftop and more

Las Vegas Strip resident DJs Steve Aoki and Shaquille O’Neal (aka DJ Diesel) have teamed up to release “Welcome to the Playhouse” through Aoki’s Dim Mak label, a high-energy track with accompanying animated music video. “Shaq and I have been wanting to collaborate on a track together for a while now, but it wasn’t until he came over to Aoki’s Playhouse one day that we finally found the inspiration for our collab,” Aoki said in a statement. “We hopped into the studio and the track just came together. That same kind of fun energy is carried through to the artwork and video as well, and I’m so excited to be kicking off the new year with this release.” Aoki spins next at Omnia on January 15, 21 and 29; DJ Diesel doesn’t have any dates on the upcoming Wynn Nightlife calendar.

Resorts World and Zouk Group have partnered with Veuve Clicquot to create a special outdoor winter nightlife experience at Rose Rooftop, the terrace situated above Zouk Nightclub and Ayu Dayclub overlooking the Strip. Operating now through February 27, the rooftop venue allows guests to cozy up in a private igloo surrounded by festive décor, firepits and other Instagrammable photo moments while indulging in food and beverage options from Fuhu and Champagne-forward cocktails. Rose Rooftop is open Friday and Saturday from 4:30 p.m. until 1 a.m. and reservations are available at zoukgrouplv.com/roserooftop.

Commonwealth on Fremont Street has launched a new party, Misión, taking place on the rooftop starting at 11 p.m. every Wednesday through January and February. Developed by MNTRA, Soul State, Club Soda and After, Misión highlights deep house and dark techno sounds and kicked off January 5 with performances from Cocodrills, Neco, Lance Le Rock and 530. This week’s event features U.K. DJ Max Chapman with Skye, 530 and Oscar Molina, and Canadian DJ D-Unity headlines on January 19. To get on the guest list, visit misionvegas.com.
