Easyjet has partnered with No1 Lounges to open its first branded airport lounge at Gatwick airport.
The Gateway by Easyjet and No1 Lounges opens tomorrow (Thursday October 21).
Business Traveller understands that the “new” lounge is in fact housed within the former My Lounge facility at the airport’s North Terminal, which was closed following the onset of Covid-19.
In the Frequently Asked Questions section for the lounge, under “Where is the lounge located?”, it says:
“After security follow signs for airport lounges and My Lounge. You’ll find us on the left as you enter the lounge pavilion.”
Easyjet is highlighting a from price of £18.50 for entry to the lounge – note that there are two ways of booking access online:
- Via Holiday Extras where you will pay £18.50 for a one visit, £24 for two hours, or £32 for three hours
- Via no1lounges.com where the cost is £32 for a three-hour visit, with extra time available for £10 per hour. Subscribers to The Club by Business Traveller can also get 20 per cent off No1 Lounge stays – for more information and to join click here.
Easyjet says that the lounge will offer “a choice of complementary hot and cold menus with a selection of enticing dishes, freshly prepared and served to their tables, alongside a range of self-serve side dishes and hot and cold drinks”.
The carrier also said that “Destination-inspired signature dishes, which change every quarter, will be offered for those wishing to get that authentic taste of Europe before they jet-off, as well as the lounge’s own signature cocktail list”.
Other facilities include free wifi, charging points, “a choice of dining and lounge soft-seating for relaxing with refreshments”, and “areas that families can enjoy exploring including the TV den and games room”.
Commenting on the opening Rachael Smith, commercial proposition and innovation director for Easyjet, said:
“We are delighted to be launching our very first airport lounge in partnership with No1 Lounges to serve passengers at London Gatwick, where we’re proud to be the largest airline.
“We’re always looking for opportunities to offer travellers more choice and great value, so we’re proud that The Gateway will be able to offer something for everyone whether it’s all the essentials for a workspace, somewhere comfortable to relax before jetting off or to entertain the family.
“The launch is timely as we are seeing the recovery begin in the UK, not only for leisure travel where winter sun destinations are proving popular once again, but for business travellers too, who are returning in their biggest numbers since before the pandemic.
“Whatever the reason for travel, we are confident that the lounge will provide the perfect destination for customers wanting to get their trip off to a perfect start.”
