Exclusive! Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2 to take a 20-year time leap; Disha Parmar and Nakuul Mehta to exit the show

Ever since it hit the tube in August last year, the second season of Bade Achhe Lagte Hain (BALH), which stars Disha Parmar and Nakuul Mehta, has been receiving positive reviews from the audience. The storyline of the show, the cast, and especially the onscreen chemistry between the lead couple, have been raved about a lot. We have now learnt that the daily soap will soon take a time leap of about 20 years and lead actors will quit the show.

Informs a source associated with BALH 2, “A 20-year time leap is in the offing and the track will focus on the grown-up Pihu. Of course, it is a big leap but the story needs to progress. The casting for the grown-up Pihu and a few more actors is underway. We are hoping to finalise the cast soon.”

Disha and Nakuul didn’t respond to our calls.

Child artiste Aarohi M Kumawat plays the character of Priya (Disha Parmar) and Ram’s (Nakuul Mehta) daughter Pihu Kapoor.

Recently, Disha’s look on the show underwent a change. While she is mostly seen in Indian wear, she will now be in formal attire. Why the transition? According to the ongoing track, Ram and Priya meet with an accident and Ram loses his memory. He no longer remembers that Priya is his wife. In a bid to be with him and take proper care of him, Priya applies for the post of PA in his office.

Talking about the new look in the show, Disha said, “I’m quite liking it. It feels like a breath of fresh air whenever you try something different as an actor. The main difference between Priya and Lovely would be that Lovely would be seen wearing shoes, which Priya doesn’t do but Disha adores them in her personal life.”

The first season of BALH was headlined by Sakshi Tanwar and Ram Kapoor. The show was appreciated for its beautiful mature love story minus the melodrama. The new season was conceptualised seven years after the first ended.
