Boeing Commercial Airlines (BCA) has an exciting opportunity for a Flight Deck Engineering Manger to join the BCAFlight Deck Engineering Organization located in Everett WA. The Flight Deck organization develops the cockpit environment for all Boeing Commercial Airplanes including integration or displays control panels autoflight systems and consoles. The flight deck program operations team integrates across Flight Deck Design Flight Deck Crew Operations Pilots and our airline customers to ensure we deliver best in class Flight Decks that improve safety and addresses the needs of the Flight Crew.
The Flight Deck Engineering Manager will have integration responsibility across multiple flight deck function for multiple production programs. The successful candidate will work closely with the systems leadership teams in the design center and on multiple airplane programs to ensure flight deck supports all program commitments. The candidate will thrive in working in a fast paced environment can navigate ambiguity and is committed to delivering quality results to meet stakeholder expectations.
The selected candidate will be required to perform work onsite in Everett WA.
Position Responsibilities:

Project Management including tracking and managing budget and schedule commitments with program leadership

Acquire resources for projects
-
Engineering oversight of suppliers
-
Lead Process Improvements
-
Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers suppliers peers and direct reports

Prioritizing work and eliminating/mitigating roadblocks

Proactive communication across stakeholders

Ensuring that the proper staff facilities equipment and tools are available to execute the program SOW
-
Develop grow and mentor the team
-
Attract hire and retain talent in support of the Flight Deck skill teams
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements therefore a US Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. US Person includes US Citizen lawful permanent resident refugee or asylee
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
-
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering computer science mathematics physics or chemistry
-
2+ years of experience leading cross functional teams
-
2+ years of experience providing communications counsel and support to senior management
-
2+ years of experience with developing and executing operating rhythms integrated program schedules project plans and/or metrics
-
5+ years of experience in the aerospace industry
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
-
Proven ability to lead team performance provide status and communicate risks issues and roadblocks to Design Center and Program leadership
-
Experience developing avionics or airplane systems equipment
-
Experience as a pilot preferred but not required
-
Experience working production issues in the factory and on the flight line
-
Strong desire to mentor develop and grow team members
-
Lean+ knowledge leadership and experience are highly valued.

Ability to manage conflicting priorities in a resource-scarce environment

Highly effective communications skills both written and oral

Interest in understanding and then guiding the integration of new technologies into evolving airplane designs

Experience with qualification testing

Experience initiating and supporting certification efforts
