Hyatt to open hotel under JDV brand in Los Angeles – Business Traveller

An art programme will also champion local artists with works from Bradley Duncan, Bruce Rubenstein, Valerie Wilcox and Ellie Pritts.

The lobby has a communal workspace area and a ground-floor coffee bar which opens onto the exterior courtyard. Rooms will feature floor-to-ceiling windows and hardwood floors, while the seven one-bedroom 36 sqm suites on the top floor will include a separate living area, 12-foot ceilings, a sitting area and a king bed.

The property will feature Hyatt’s first digital check-in experience, with guests able to use their phone to create a room key at the designated key station in the lobby.

Dining venues will include Ka’teen by chef Wes Avila, which will occupy 465 sqm of outdoor space and is inspired by the Mayan city of Tulum.

Open-air rooftop bar and lounge Desert 5 Spot, named after the flower found in the Mojave Desert, will be surrounded by cactus and yucca with hues of yellow and pink to reflect 1970s vintage Palm Springs. The venue offers panoramic views of the city and will host live music performances.

Hyatt added JDV to its portfolio when it acquired Two Roads Hospitality in 2018, and the brand currently counts 14 properties across the US and China, with three hotels also set to be added in Sweden this year.

Earlier this year Hyatt added the first property under its JDV brand in Canada, located in downtown Toronto.
