India vs Bangladesh, 2nd ODI: Rohit Sharma suffers thumb injury, taken for scans | Cricket News

An attempt for a catch resulted in a thumb injury for India captain Rohit Sharma while he was fielding in the slips during the second ODI against hosts Bangladesh in Mirpur on Wednesday.
Rohit, who also opens the batting for India, left the field immediately and was taken to a hospital for scans on his left thumb.
It was an edge off Bangladesh batter Anamul Haque’s bat off the bowling of pacer Mohammed Siraj that Rohit dropped, leaving him in considerable pain.
The BCCI confirmed that the right-handed batter was rushed to a hospital for investigative scans.

“India Captain Rohit Sharma suffered a blow to his thumb while fielding in the 2nd ODI. The BCCI Medical Team assessed him. He has now gone for scans,” the BCCI tweeted.
It’s a must-win game for India, who had lost the first ODI of the three-match series.
