Singapore Airlines to resume A380 flights to the UK – Business Traveller

Singapore Airlines has confirmed that its A380 aircraft will return to the London Heathrow route from next month.

SIA is the latest carrier to announce the resumption of superjumbo services, following Qatar Airways and British Airways.

SIA’s superjumbo will operate on one daily return flight between Singapore and London from November 19, as follows:

SIA confirmed that the move will mark “the first Singapore Airlines A380 to return to the skies for long-haul travel, as the carrier gradually rebuilds its network with the progressive resumption of international air travel”.

As we reported earlier this year, Singapore Airlines had shown faith in its A380s, by sending one of its older variants back to Singapore for retrofitting.

SIA currently offers 18 flights per week between Heathrow and Singapore, with plans to increase this to 21 weekly services from November 1. The carrier is also operating three flights per week from Manchester.

The carrier recently reopened its SilverKris lounge at Heathrow T2.

Commenting on the news Mr Mohamed Rafi Mar, general manager UK and Ireland, Singapore Airlines, said:

“The return of the Singapore Airlines A380 to the skies is a positive step towards international travel recovery.

“By bringing the aircraft back to the UK, we are delighted to offer our passengers enhanced travel options between London and Singapore.

“We look forward to welcoming them on board our aircraft, where they can continue to enjoy comfortable and safe journeys with Singapore Airlines.”

To celebrate the return of the A380, SIA has launched a number of promotional fares from London to Southeast Asian destinations – more details are in the tables below.

Tickets must be booked by November 4, for travel up to August 31, 2022 (for economy travel), and March 31, 2022 (for business class).
