The Puma X Dua Lipa Collection Has Dropped, And It’s Inspired By ‘90s Rave Culture

Puma and superstar Dua Lipa have launched the second installation of their ongoing ‘Flutur’ collaboration.

The unisex collection, which spans over 30 items, pays homage to the freedom and vibrancy that is synonymous with the old-school rave scene. In keeping with this vibe, there are bright and punchy colors aplenty in block and stripy form, along with holographic details. As for shapes, expect form-fitting and throwback sportswear silhouettes, from cropped fitted tees and jackets to flared T7 tracksuits, and basketball shorts that are oh-so-’90s.

Another standout item is the unique CELL Dome King, which was created exclusively by Lipa and is a super chunky pearlescent sports-inspired hybrid sneaker. There are also three variations of the Mayze silhouette, including the Mayze, Mayze Boot, and Mayze Metallic; here, Dua worked closely alongside longtime PUMA collaborator, designer, and songwriter Billy Walsh, to fully realize the collection. Making the collection as inclusive as possible, the line is offered in a range of sizes.

“The butterfly represents transition, metamorphosis, and new beginnings. I felt like in the beginning, when I first started working on drop one, the butterfly already had a lot of meaning for me. Now, going into the second drop, that meaning has just solidified itself and become even more important in my life. It feels like everything progressed and manifested itself in that way.” Dua Lipa

In true Dua style, her signature butterfly lettermark is also part of the collection as it shared placement with PUMA’s fast cat insignia in much of the line. Plus, the accompanying campaign, which was shot by Jordan Hemingway and choreographed by John Byrne, features the dance crew from her ‘Future Nostalgia’ tour — cue Samatha Grover, Didde-Mie From, Jason Nguyen, Zaccary Mile, Fatou Bah, Robyn Laud, Sharon Mangoendinomo, Demi Mensah, Kane Horn, Lamaar Manning, and Shawarah Battles.

A Dua launch wouldn’t be complete either without a dinner and rave to celebrate, and so, London’s most fun crowd donned their Puma gladrags to mark the lastest drop at an evening called ‘The Night Before’.

The night, hosted by Dua at Bistrotheque, kicked off with a drinks reception, followed by dinner, rave, and light show. Guests included creatives, designers, models, and artists from Charles Jeffrey to Isan Elba, Gareth Pugh, Saul Nash, Vincent Rockins, and Tems.

On entry, there were sounds of bottles being loaded into refuse trucks along with trash bag sculptures suspended from ceiling rafters, artistically strained tablecloths, fallen chairs, and lipstick scribbled windows. There was also a centerpiece that combined fishing nets, tinsel fringes and a bubble wrap train that carpeted the space — all adding to the chaotic, hedonistic vibe; after all, the dinner was entitled ‘The Night Before’.

The Puma x Dua Lipa Flutur Drop 2 collection is available globally from and select retailers.
